We decided on St. Charles Borromeo Church for our wedding because they worked closely with the same practices as our church in Denver. The marriage prep was similar, and made it easy for us to correspond out of state. We really enjoyed working with Fr. Dodson and he definitely made us feel at home at his parish. Borromeo Church is our home away from home♥

Choosing the St. Charles Convention Center as our reception venue was easy. They could accommodate our guest count of 200 people, plus we had a lot of people coming from out of town. Since the hotel is connected to the reception site, it gave us peace of mind knowing our friends and family didn’t have to drive anywhere afterwards. This allowed everyone to have a great time, with no worries!

The dream proposal

We moved to Colorado shortly after graduating college at SIU. We had become weekend warriors on the slopes, and snowboarded just about every chance we got. We decided to go up to Beaver Creek with a group of friends one weekend. Ray made it a point that he was going to meet up with a “client” that weekend and to bring some “nice” clothes to go out to eat with them later. Never caught the hint. We decided to head up this double black diamond because it had the best views. As I was strapping into my board, he had our group of friends ready with cameras and he got down on his knee. Totally caught me by surprised and of course I said yes.We stumbled our way down the mountain as a newly engaged couple. I will never forget!

what was your favorite wedding day memory?

where did you go on your honeymoon?

On our honeymoon, we stayed at the Shelborne Hotel in Miami prior to our cruise to the Bahamas. Ray was able to experience more of his Cuban side at all the awesome restaurants! I would highly recommend Moreno’s Cuban Sandwhich. On one of our excursions, we went snorkeling at Half Moon Cay and were even able to sneak into the stingray exhibit. During our cruise, we were the featured couple for their “newlywed game show”and I would like to add we won! One of the days we went to Atlantis where we found found the best Cuban cigars. We also stumbled upon a STL bar in the Bahamas and owner was a HUGE cardinals fan! We met a fun bunch of people on the ship, and went to the piano bar just about every night. The whole trip was truly amazing, and It was hard to get back into reality.

how was your experience with allegro?

I remember putting together my playlist and wanting to reach out to everyone at our reception. They totally reassured my song selection and made the night memorable to everyone. I worked with them all out of state and mostly by phone calls and email and they were great at communicating. The day of couldn’t have gone any smoother. The DJ was awesome and very involved with the audience. Everyone was dancing. He went through our script exactly as planned. It was beautifully executed♥

How’s married life so far?

We are still living in Colorado and Still snowboarding. Married life is so much better than engagement life. We get to enjoy each other without wedding planning and that has been a nice change. We stay busy with work and taking care of our fur baby. We are just really enjoying the time we have together!
